Kimchi Fried Rice

  • ¼ cup Kimchi (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp White part of Scallions (finely sliced)
  • 1 tbsp Garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Gochugaru
  • 1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
  • 2 cup Rice (1 day old is preferable)
  • 3 tbsp Green part of Scallions (for garnish)


  • In a wide pot over medium heat, add the oil. Add the scallions and garlic and cook until aromatic.
  • Add the soy sauce and gochugaru and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add the kimchi and cook until it has slightly dried out.
  • Now, add the rice and mix well to coat. Ook the rice for 2 to 3 minutes while stirring at regular intervals.
  • Finish with the green part of scallions and transfer to your plate. Garnish with some more scallion and enjoy!
