Ingredients
Crispy Baked Cauliflower
- 1 medium to large Cauliflower
- 1 cup Rice Flour
- 1 cup Cold Water
- 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Gochugaru Powder
Gochujang Glaze
- ¼ cup Gochujang Paste
- 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar
- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 2 tbsp Date Syrup
- ¼ cup Water
Garnishes
- 2 stalks Green Onion (sliced thinly )
- 1 tsp White Sesame Seeds (roasted )
Instructions
Crispy Baked Cauliflower
- Preheat oven to 220°C and line a baking tray with baking paper. Using a small knife, break down the cauliflower in medium sized florets and set aside.
- In a large bowl, add the rice flour, Gochugaru, salt, black pepper, and water.
- Whisk the batter well to get rid of all the lumps. Add the cauliflower florets into the batter and coat each floret well.
- Place the florets onto the baking tray with space between each floret and making sure that they do not touch.
- Bake the cauliflower for 30 minutes at 220°C. Once the cauliflower is completely baked and has a golden brown color, remove from the oven and set aside to cool down.
- The rice flour batter must form a crispy exterior on the cauliflower just like frying it would do, but we are all about health and wellness at Urban Platter and we want to stay away from deep frying as much as we can!
Gochujang Glaze
- In a blender, add the Gochujang, soy sauce, rice vinegar, date syrup, and water.
- Blend into a smooth glaze and transfer to a bowl before glazing the crispy cauliflower.
Glazing the Cauliflower
- Using a brush, glaze the crispy cauliflower with the Gochujang glaze on the same baking tray.
- Place the baking tray with the glazed cauliflower back into the oven for 2 to 3 minutes
- Transfer the glazed cauliflower to a plate and garnish with the sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
- This is a good time to pour that optional beer into a chilled glass!
