Sifar in Sindhi means punctuation. 60-year-old Anisha Lala’s spice blend punctuates vegetarian cooking. A taste from the forgotten tribes of the Sind region. It can be used as a Garam Masala as well.
Key Ingredients – Cumin Seeds, Caraway Seeds, Green Cardamom, Pepper Corn, Cinnamon, Black Cardamom, Cloves, Bay Leaves, Nutmeg, Mace
Recipe – Cook vegetables according to your recipe. The gravy will need onions, garlic, ginger, tomatoes and/or green chillies. Dry preparations can be made with just the Sifar masala, red chillies and turmeric. Serve with rice or bread.
