Cafe Junyali Home Made Spice Blend Punjabi Channa & Kaali Dal Masala, 50g
This spice blend ushers in the taste of Multan. 61-year-old Vandana Malhotra’s answer to food for the soul. Lentils are cooked in clarified butter with her special age-old family spice blend.
Key Ingredients – Amchur, Salt, Grated Tomato, Ajwain, Red Chilies, Coriander.
Recipe – Soak chickpeas or a combination of lentils with rajma (Kaali Dal). Heat clarified butter, chopped onions, garlic, ginger and the Punjabi Daal Masala. Add extra coriander, amchur and red chilli powders, if required. Add salt and grated tomato. Cool till oil separates. Then add boiled chickpeas or lentils. This spice blend can also be used as a seasoning for Dahi Wada and grilled cottage cheese or grilled meats. In addition, it can be filled in bitter gourd and okra.
